It is time that we were studying ancient history not only by investigating the documents but also by examining the genuineness of them. Moreover, we need to have under consideration about the historical viewpoint including the purpose, role, and viewpoint of history.
And it is necessary for us to study the activism of history. In order to discriminate the authenticity, we have to understand basically the environment as well as investigate the field. So we had better abandon ways depending on the Japanese spot investigations and outcomes of research unconsciously. Nowadays, it have been expanded the field of study for historians. It is because that mankind have a larger stage, so we recognize the Eastern and international questions as ours. And we can actively participate in the wave of globalization. And just like the study of Goguryu's history, we can't interpret history without the direct understanding of field.
And it is necessary for historians to give up the toadyism of learning and the dogma toward the methodology of study. Moreover, we have to establish the independent historical view and understand the Eastern and Korean version toward the history of civilization. Namely, we need to discuss the model of the East and the world, especially discover the original form of national culture and the developmental model of human by studying the ancient history.
Ancient history requires interdisciplinary researches in order to use the scientific methodology like anthropology and natural science. And it is necessary for us to judge the various historical field. Moreover, we had better break the viewpoint regarding our ancient history as only one nation's history, so seek to consider it in the context of world races, civilizations, and cultures. Zeitgeist has been reflected on history, so it is desirable for us to try to understand our history in the world history. Finally it is desired that we regard our history in the historical viewpoint of land and sea.(海陸史觀)
