The sudden and rapid changes of society are causing a fast degradation of authorities. This phenomenon is obvious in a school, the scene of education. In fact the authority of teacher has been faced with a challenge and deprived severely. An aim of this paper is to analyze the causes of the forfeiture of teacher' s authority and is to seek the way of retrieval of it. First the concept of authority is clarified and then the type of teacher' authority is classified.
Even though the authority of teacher is going to losing we can not imagine a school of no authority. In fact a authority is one of the major characteristics of school itself. Therefore a teacher must know the effective way of using the authority in a certain circumstances, of a certain type according to the change of society. When the teacher' s authority is recovered at school the problem of collapse of classroom could have a chance to be solved.
