Estimation of plant growth is important for researchers who analyze and compare plant growth non-destructively. In this study, estimation models of leaf area (LA), fresh weight (FW) and dry weight (DW) were developed for paprika (Capsicum annuum L., cv Derby), using leaf length (L), leaf width (W), or some combinations of these parameters. By means of regression analysis, the following models were developed: LA = 0.6034 LW + 0.0732 (R² = 0.994<SUP>***</SUP>), FW = 0.0184 LW - 0.1108 (R² = 0.916), and DW = 0.0017 LW - 0.0032 (R² = 0.937) for estimating leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight, respectively. In validation, selected models showed high agreement between the estimated and measured values of leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight. Therefore, it is concluded that these models can be useful to estimate leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight of paprika with a high degree of accuracy in rockwool-based soilless culture.
