This study purposed to examine important factors in purchasing sport goods related to university students' sport values and motives for participation in sports. For this purpose, we sampled 283 students who were attending a physical education class in university. Collected data were analyzed through factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis, and conclusions were drawn as follows. First, the factor affecting the fashion of products was economic value, and physical, social, character and aesthetic values did not have a significant effect. Second, the factors affecting the marketability of products significantly were aesthetic and economic values, and physical, social and character values did not have a significant effect. Third, among motives for participation in sports, self development and price orientedness had a statistically significant effect on the fashion of products, and health orientedness, relief from stress, and hobby and entertainment did not have a significant effect. Fourth, among motives for participation in sports, health orientedness and family orientedness had a statistically significant effect on the marketability of products, and self development, relief from stress, and hobby and entertainment did not have a significant effect.
