The purpose of this study is to organize writing activities in Korean writing books and to improve female marriage immigrants’ writing skills. This study analyzes writing activities in Korean writing books and shows things that should be changed in the Korean books. We define ‘writing’ in the area of language education and choose principles of writing education and decide on the appropriate types of writing activities. We also examine the 13 Korean books that have been published for female marriage immigrant so far. As a result, the activities are controlled writing activities, such as those that make students focus only on grammar. Most of the activities are for real writing skills including spelling, vocabulary and grammar. Since the purpose of learning language is to communicate, we should teach students how to write systematically. That’s why the Korean text books for female marriage immigrants should be well organized. In particular, the activities should be well organized with variety activities such as controlled writing activities, leading writing activities, and free composition. Also, Korean books should be organized by the activities that can fulfill education principles such as learner-centered writing, progress-based writing, and genre-based writing.
