이 연구는 핸드볼 선수들이 인식하는 지도자의 리더십유형이 집단응집력과 선수만족에 미치는 영향력을 규명하는 것이었다. 연구대상은 2010~2011년 국내 핸드볼 대회에 참가한 대학ㆍ일반 핸드볼 선수 207명(남 106명, 여 101명)이었으며, 측정도구는 스포츠리더십척도 질문지, 집단응집력 질문지, 선수만족 질문지를 사용하였다. 선수들이 인식하는 리더십유형, 집단응집력, 선수만족은 배경변인(성, 소속팀, 팀 훈련시간, 입상실적)에 따라 측정 비교하였으며, 리더십유형의 주요변인이 집단응집력과 선수만족에 영향을 미치는 상대적 공헌도를 알아보았다. 성과 소속팀에 따른 t-test 결과 남자선수가 리더십유형과 집단응집력이 높게 나타났으며(p<.001), 대학팀이 리더십 유형, 집단응집력, 선수만족에서 높게 나타났다((p<.001). 팀 훈련시간, 입상실적에 따른 다변량분산분석(MANOVA) 결과 중간수준의 훈련시간 집단이 리더십유형, 집단응집력, 선수만족에서 높게 나타났고(p<.01), 입상실적이 우수한 집단이 리더십유형, 선수만족에서 높게 나타났다(p<.001). 또한 핸드볼 선수들이 인식하는 지도자의 리더십유형과 집단응집력 및 선수만족의 영향력 검증에서 리더십유형의 하위요인 중 훈련과 지시행동, 민주적 행동, 사회적 지지행동, 긍정적 보상행동은 집단응집력에 긍정적인 영향을 나타냈으며, 권위적 행동은 집단응집력에 부정적인 영향으로 나타났다. 한편 훈련과 지시행동, 사회적지지 행동은 선수만족에 긍정적인 영향을 주었고, 긍정적 보상행동은 오히려 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다(p<.001).
The purpose of this study was to closely examine influence in coach’s leadership of being recognized by handball players upon group cohesion and players’ satisfaction. The subjects were 270 handball players who consisted of 106 men and 101 women belonging to the college team or the corporate-owned team. They participated in the national handball competitions. A measurement tool was used the questionnaire for sports leadership scale, the questionnaire for group cohesion, and the questionnaire for players’ satisfaction. The leadership style of being recognized by players, the group cohesion, and the players’ satisfaction were measured and compared according to background variables(gender, club, team training time, and performance of winning a prize). It examined the relative contributiveness that the main variables of leadership style have influence upon group cohesion and players’ satisfaction. As a result of t-test according to gender and club, the leadership style and the group cohesion were indicated to be higher(p<.001) in female players than male players. Depending on club, the leadership style, group cohesion, and players’ satisfaction were indicated to be higher(p<.001) in business team than university team. As a result of MANOVA according to the team training time and the performance of winning a prize, the group with training time in moderate level was indicated to be high(p<.01) in team training time. In the result according to the performance of winning a prize, the group with excellent performance of winning a prize was indicated to be high(p<.001) in leadership style and players’ satisfaction. Also, coach’s leadership style of being recognized by handball players was confirmed to have influence upon group cohesion and players’ satisfaction(p<.001).
