The needs for renovation of old apartment buildings have been increasing because Korean Building Energy Efficiency Rating System is planned to be expanded to the existing apartment buildings. The aim of this study is to compare the energy performances of apartment buildings before and after renovation to estimate the energy-saving potential by way of renovation. Based on the actual renovation project, energy performances of apartment buildings were analyzed by using the PHPP program, before and after renovation in accordance with the building energy code. As results, it was shown that total energy demands were reduced by 64%.
