In the past, vehicles were for transport. However, in these days, the vehicles are not only for transport but also safety and convenience. The device is ECU which makes the vehicles more safe and convenient. The current vehicles have lots of electronic devices such as EMS, TCU and ESC, therefore it takes lots of time to test the devices and verify their safety.
To test the ECU, we should monitor internal variables of ECU. We used CAN Line to monitor internal valiables of ECU. In this case, we could not measure the internal data more than 50KB/s. And, it is difficult to measure the above mentioned data without exclusive CAN Line. Furthermore, current vehicles are equipped with much more controllers. Then, CAN busload was increased and it makes more difficult to measure the data of vehicle by CAN.
As the controllers are improved and code size is increased, the internal variables are also increased more than a few KB.
If some problem was occurred, all variables could be recorded when a few data is only used. In this case, we can confirm the cause of problem, easily. However, if the data which be needed is not measured, we have to select new Measurement Data and get the log file, again. And, we should extract the internal variables which are needed for the test, and reprogram the test Software and keep testing until the same problem occurs. Maybe we can’t reproduce the same problem. We want to make an improved development environment by finding an efficient way to test a large number of ECU and reducing loss from repetition test.
