It is very important to understand current and prospective residents’ housing perception and housing values in housing development. The purpose of this study was to explore housing values and considerations for housing choice of Korean college students and Chinese students studying in university in Korea in order to provide basic information on housing development in Korean and China. A questionnaire survey was conducted to Korean and Chinese students in C university located in Chungbuk province in December 2012. Total 50 responses were collected from 25 Korean students and 35 Chinese students. The responses were analyzed using frequencies, independent sample t-test and chi-square analysis. Findings are as follows: (1) Chinese students showed stronger preference of single-family housing to multifamily housing than Korean students; (2) Chinese students were found to prefer larger size housing than Korean students did; (3) Chinese students tended to consider functional aspects of housing more than other aspects in housing choice and their housing values were skewed to consider housing as an financial asset and place merely an economic meaning on housing; and (4) when comparing consideration in housing choice, significant difference between Korean and Chinese students were found in 16 out of 25 aspects, Korean students were found to consider more diverse aspects on housing choice.
