In this era that needs the humanities more than any times because communication skills and knowledge about humans are solutions to the problems modern societies suffer, it is necessary to consider what educational contents and directions are inserted to the liberal education or general education. In order to find out them, the change of the humanities in the general education and university curriculum was reviewed and the current status of the humanities was clarified through a survey. The survey was conducted in the form of questionnaire and 187 students’ responses were screened. The survey proved that the interest and care of the humanities were much less than those of job seeking and employment. People in modern life agree that the humanities is fading away and more practical and achievable subjects such as sciences, businesses, computer, medical fields, engineering, etc. are getting popular. So, it is the right time to evaluate again the heritages that the humanities has and at the same time students’ demands on the general education should be considered.
