This paper intended to clarify narrative concept and to review researches onnarratives in Korean language education. The researches on narratives in Koreanlanguage education have been studied by means of terminology narrative or storyfrom 2000’s. These researches tried to analysis narrative discourse and storiesproduced from Korean learners to investigate language acquisition. And otherresearches tried to propose the methods using narratives for literature educationand culture education. Recently many researchers have been studied onstorytelling to improve communicative competence. These papers have beenstudied on this: Korean learning through storytelling activities will enhancestudent’s affective factors and it will improve the basic communicative skill ofKorean. And many studies have recently emphasized the use of narrative ineducation as a teaching and learning method. Specially because Korea is ontransition from mono-cultural society into multi-cultural society, these researchesemphasized on narrative inquiry in order to enhance the multicultural sensitivity,multi-cultural education. I investigated researches about narratives, stories and storytelling in Koreanlanguage education and suggested practical possibility of learner-centered Korean education.
