The study examines the character of employment-growth relationship using employment elasticity. The elasticity of employment with respect to output is the numerical measure of how employment varies with respect to economic output. Breaking down the elasticity of employment by different subsets of the population, economic sectors, and classification of employment provides an opportunity to assess the quality of economic growth the country experienced. With this, the study does not only provide an indicative response of employment in terms of the quantity of employed to GDP growth, but also offers circumstantial evidence to the overall changes in the quality of jobs or growth in decent employment.
