This thesis aims to find how amended and changed test syllabus are reflected on the new HSK 〈Writing 1〉 section by levels through comparative analysis of HSK Test Syllabus of Version 2009 and 2015, a known standard for New HSK’s evaluation items, as a means to evaluating the tendency and shift of direction in test questions. The following is the summary of contents revealed so far.
First, pre-study considered the results of study in Korea and China since 2010 by division into ‘test syllabus,’ ‘test and test instruction,‘ and writing.
Second, this thesis looked at the makeup and change of parts of speech, sentence elements and system of its patterns by level through comparative analysis of test syllabus between 2009 and 2015 versions.
Third, this thesis analyzed the question items of 〈Writing Ⅰ〉 section (level 3 to 5) in the previous exam papers of HSK for 2014 and 2018. Specifically, it looked into the current status of substantive and expletive, orthography, sentence pattern, special sentence pattern and complements and then analyzed by comparison the trend of questions and commons and differences between 2014 and 2018 exam papers.
This thesis also investigated how the changed syllabus items between 2009 and 2015 versions applied to the previous exam papers of 2014 and 2018 with what relevance.
Lastly, as to the reflection of sentence pattern on test syllabus, noun predicative sentence appeared in remarkably lower distribution, compared to other predicative sentences. Besides, the changed test syllabuses were not properly reflected in ‘corrective,’ comparative, clutching, presence, BA, passive and combining constructions, so this thesis referred to the need for systematic appearance of the aforesaid sentence patterns in the making of test to come. This thesis also suggested a need for reorganizing the complements of degree, direction, consequence and others in the syllabus and test questions due to the unbalanced and biased appearance of complements.
