This study investigated the current state of mid-size hospitals mainly dealing with respiratory diseases in city D. After classifying the floor plans into integrated type and corridor type, and selecting the target buildings that have different floor plan types, indoor airflows were measured. Based on this, the study aimed to provide basic data for the prevention of spread of airborne and droplet infections occurring in the outpatient departments of hospitals. This was accomplished by performing simulations to analyze the distribution of airborne (0.5 ㎛) and droplet (20 ㎛) viruses after classifying HEPA filter, one medium filter and two medium filters according to the efficiency of air filters among the equipment used for prevention of nosocomial infection. the efficiency of the two medium filters is considered to be an effective airconditioning facility to reduce the concentration of infectious bacteria in the medium-sized hospital, as shown to be similar to that of the HEPA filter.
