Senior citizens in Japan have increased rapidly and they desire to make their life style more comfortable than in present poor situation of clothing. Then, I consider that we have to help to elevate the status of them; especially the universal fashion design for their clothing needed to product immediately. Recently apparel makers are trying to respond such senior citizen's needs. However, I think the design that they have made could not satisfy the needs sufficiently yet. Further, the concept of the universal fashion design is not important to design only the care wears for handicapped people but also the daily wears for common senior citizens. Then, I tried to design the universally wearable one-piece dress covering all ages, figure or body size of elderly, using the data investigated on the research of the desires to the ready-made clothes for elderly women (Odamaki 2001). Furthermore, I tried to design a universal one-piece dress and so on, in the extension course for the women of fifties to sixties help in our college. Based on the experience of the course and under the cooperation of the participants, I discuss here the feasibilities of universal fashion.
