Interactive art any kind of art that allows the audience to participate in the creation process. It can be created through any medium and be in any form. Its “dialogue” with the audience increasingly redefines artistic creation. Interactive art presented via different mediums and intervention forms is no longer a fixed art form that aims to exhibit produced objects. The first part of this paper classifies media into physical media and invented media and analyzes these two main approaches of affect infusion in artistic creation, namely interaction and virtual reality. The second part examines the forms in which interactive art intervenes in practice, presenting the intervention of interactive art in three types: “artist-artwork-scene,” “audience-artwork-scene,” and “artist-artwork-audience.” This paper explores the indirect relationship between the artist and the scene, the audience and the scene, and the artist and the audience Characteristics of affect infusion and different forms of intervention in interactive art are further demonstrated by combining them with specific interactive art cases. The analysis reveals that interactive artwork in contemporary society facilitates interaction, enhance identity, and rebuilds community, implying that interactive art is becoming a new trend in the context of globalization and a turning point in art.
