The purpose of this study is to provide basic information and data for research development of special dance teaching methodology by analyzing the meaning of special education teaching of dance teachers. In order to do this, the followings were derived from open questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation for seven dance instructors with special dance education experience. Although their introductory opportunities and experiences of special dance education were different, the special feedback and vitality gained from disabled students motivated them to continue to grow into special dance teachers. In the face of a lack of a national professional education system, special dance teachers performed teaching activities in their own ways, such as identifying students" characteristic in advance, using teaching tools, making steady efforts for self-development, having a special mind, creating a safe teaching environment for unexpected situations, and asking for help. The need for developing and supporting proven special dance education programs and research method for teaching activities was seen as the most urgent topic in reality. The future-oriented directions were presented such as the importance of improving the perception of the general social members who understand the differences between the disabled and the non-disabled and the establishment of a welfare system for the activation of special education. It is thought that the limitations of the research and the findings should be carried out in a scientific way from a more diverse perspective.
