Introduction. With the popularization of digital technology, computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) has been widely used in the field of dentistry. The accuracy of the dental scanner determines the ultimate accuracy of the prosthesis. We found that the existing standard models to evaluate oral scanners were always divided into the IN-lay and the ON-lay models without sphere model. However, due to the complexity of the dentition environment, the sphere model is also important. Therefore, we decided to evaluate the accuracy of the intraoral and extraoral scanners by the spherical model and an individualized (IN/ON-lay) model.
Method. We selected a sphere model (ISO 12836) and a new designed IN/ON-lay model as the scanning objects. The true value of the two models were measured by CMM (coordinate measuring machine; NC8107, Renishaw, UK). The CMM measurements were set as the gold standards and 3D files bas ... 전체 초록 보기
