This study was aimed at exploring deep eutectic solvents (DESs) that exhibit high selectivity for the extraction of lignocellulosic materials. Thus, alkali-, phenol-, and carboxylic-acid-based DESs were manufactured, and the extraction rates of lignin and cellulose standard meterials with three DESs was analyzed. The results revealed that the extraction rate of lingin was higher in order of phenol-based DES, carboxylic acid-based DES, alkali-based DES. These are consistent with the order in which the conductivity values of these DESs is higher. However, the extraction rates of cellulose by the DESs were in the following order: carboxylic acid-based DES>alkali-based DES>phenol-based DES, which can be related to the pH values of the DESs. In addition, the addition of water during the extraction of each standard material by the alkali-based DES improved the extraction rates of the standard materials, such as lignin and cellulose. #Deep eutectic solvent (DES) #phenol-based DES #Alkali-based DES #carboxylic acid-based DES #pH #Conductivity #lignin #cellulose #extraction rate
