Sarcopenia is a chronic disease characterized by the progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass in aged. Recent reports showed probiotics could affect the progression of muscle loss by modulating gut microbiome. Kimchi confers potential probiotics properties containing lactic acid bacteria (LAB). The objective of this study was to evaluate the probiotic properties of LAB isolated from Kimchi and investigate the effect of probiotics on preventing sarcopenia.
