본 연구의 목적은 유치원에서의 따돌림 실태와 교사의 인식을 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 수도권에 위치한 유치원에서 근무하고 있는 교사 280명에게 설문지를 배부하였으며, 그 중 242부의 설문지를 SPSS를 사용하여 빈도분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 따돌림 실태에서 교사의 53.3%가 따돌림을 목격한 것으로 나타났다. 유치원에서의 따돌림은 자유선택활동시간에 많이 발생하며 발생 시 가해 유아와 이야기하는 것이 가장 효과적이었다. 따돌림 지도 시 가장 어려운 점은 지도를 해도 따돌림이 되풀이해서 발행하는 것이었다. 둘째, 유치원교사들은 유치원에서 발생하는 따돌림에 대해 높은 관심을 가지고 있었고 따돌림의 발생은 교사의 잘못이 아니라고 인식하고 있었다. 따돌림 발생의 책임은 부모에게 있으며 따돌림예방은 부모가 주도해야 한다고 인식하고 있었다. 따돌림 가해아와 피해아의 특성은 인식과 실태가 거의 유사하게 나타났다. 따돌림 예방과 지도에 교사의 역할이 매우 중요하다. 따라서 교사의 따돌림 관련 지도능력을 향상하기위해 다양한 프로그램 개발과 교사지원이 필요하다 하겠다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the status and kindergarten teachersʼ awareness of bullying in kindergarten. The subjects of this study were 242 kindergarten teachers. A questionnaire was developed based on prior literature, research and discussions with early childhood professionals. The questionnaire is composed of 3 items of 38 questions related to ʻthe status of bullying in kindergartenʼ, and ʻthe awareness of bullying in kindergartenʼ. To analyse status and kindergarten teachersʼperception of bullying in kindergarten, they were asked to complete a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted by frequency.
The results of this study were as follows : First, Kindergarten teachers were highly concerned with bullying occurring in kindergartens and 72.2% of teachers thought that bullying was increasing in kindergartens. Most teachers did not accept responsibility for bullying. They thought that responsible person of bullying are parents. Second, 53.3% of kindergarten teachers responding to the survey had witnessed bullying and there were a great number of teachers had directly witnessed. Most bullying cases occurred during free activity classes. A majority of teachers try to solve problem through counseling with assailant. Teachersʼs difficulty was that bullying is usually repetitive. Teachersʼ role is very important to prevent bullying. So, teachers have to develop abilities to educate about bullying. Therefore Various education programs to prevent bullying should be developed and the ministry of education should support more to help teachers in various ways.
