The purpose of this study was to examine the comparison of physical fitness in people with normal foot and pes planus. 79 healthy men, aged from 40 to 49 years old, were divided into two groups who had normal foot in 44 people, and pes planus in 35 people. Maximal oxygen intakes(VO2max), maximal heart rates(HRmax), exercise duration time, knee isokinetics strength. push-up, sit-up, grip strength, sit and reach, sargent jump, and side step were measured. And the result were as follows. a) VO2max and HRmax of people with normal foot were higher than those of pes planus. However, there was no critical differences in exercise duration time between two groups. b) There were no significants in knee isokinetics strength, push-up, sit-up, grip strength, sit and reach, sargent jump, and side step between two groups. The results suggest that pes planus has effects on cardiorespiratory function, whereas it has no effects on strength, muscular endurance, muscle power, agility.
