This paper tries to find a possibility for North Korea to break its non-compliance history for international agreements after the historical summit between leaders of two countries of U.S. and North Korea. This research starts with an assumption that the main purpose of Nuclear Weapon of NK is a tool to secure the regime security so that hypothesis is whether any state other than NK can guarantee its regime security especially against the internal challenge. In this respect, the role of China seems to be bigger than that of the U.S. with respect to overcoming the dilemma. China has a successful history of controlling democratic movements while securing one party control system, which will give some clues to NK about how to solve the authoritarian dilemma. In this sense, the role of China is expected to be critical in the area of internal regime security in addition to one of economic realm. The real concern, however, is whether the relationship between two states has been so robust for China to be a security guarantor to Kim’s regime. As a whole, it is very big challenge for Kim Jong-un to find out the North Korean Model that delivers economic prosperity and overcomes authoritarian dilemma at the same time.
