This study aimed to explore the applicability of swimming badge systems from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and England to survival swimming education in South Korea. Utilizing documentary research and interpretative methodologies, the swimming badge systems of these countries were thoroughly analyzed to identify integration points with Korean survival swimming education. The findings revealed that European swimming badge systems offer tiered programs considering the students" levels and ages, along with motivational incentives through varied badges and programs. Furthermore, they maintain a structured educational duration conducive to acquiring practical survival swimming skills. Compared to Europe, it is suggested that Korean survival swimming education needs to enhance program quality, devise motivational strategies, increase instructional time, and develop curricula that extend beyond elementary to secondary education. These improvements will foster practical survival swimming skills and contribute to establishing a safe swimming culture in Korea. The study provides policy recommendations for enhancing swimming education in Korea, thus holding educational significance.
