Although aid towards the Northern part of the Korean Peninsula, North Korea, has been delivered for several decades, there have frequently been conflict-related events in the region. What forms of aid could bring peace to the Korean Peninsula? This paper explores cases of aid to conflict-related areas and suggests policy implications for aid to North Korea. The analysis shows that project-type and scholarship-type aid to the humanitarian sector could promote peace. Aid provided by NGOs and research and educational institutions has positive effects on peace, but aid by international organizations has a negative impact on peace. Therefore, aid to North Korea would be more effective for peace on the Korean Peninsula when delivered by NGOs and research and educational institutions and provided as a scholarship or project-type grant
