The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the School Health Teacher Competency Enhancement (SHT-CE) program for health teachers of elementary school, middle school, and high school in G Metropolitan city. The program contents were divided into health education and school health operation. The research was conducted following the principles of the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Participants were 55 subjects in the experimental group, and 50 subjects in the control group. The experimental group participated in the SHT-CE program, and the control group did not received in any education. Teacher efficiency scale developed by Lee, job stress tool developed by Jayaratne and Cess and 20 stress tools modified by Park, and job satisfaction test developed by Lee was used. Both post-test scores of teacher efficiency, job stress, and job satisfaction were significantly different between the experimental group and the control group. There were significant increases in teacher efficiency (F=31.14, p<.001), job stress (F=12.40, p=.001), and job satisfaction (F=13.72, p=.001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. Research results can be used to develop and standardize systematic health teacher training programs. In future studies, it is highly recommended to develop strategies for various teaching and learning methods so that continuous education required at work for health teachers can be carried out continuously and efficiently.
