To process paper through 3-Dimensional molding, the strain property of the paper would be the most important factor. In this study, the factors affecting the strain of paper, such as raw materials and impregnation treatment, were evaluated for improving the strain for the cotton pulp based paper. According to the results, the strain was slightly improved by addition of fillers and the long fiber length of the stock. The impregnation in PVA(polyvinyl alcohol) and borax resulted in significant increase in the strain by more than 30% compared to the non-treated paper. The addition of PLA(polylactic acid) fiber increased the strain especially for the addition of the longer PLA fiber, although the tensile index was decreased by the addition of PLA fibers. In the case of the Lyocell fiber, the strain was decreased because of the higher density than PLA fiber structure. #Strain #3D forming #tensile strength #cotton #PLA #Lyocell #fiber length
