    This paper analyzes energy problems China facing and present situations of energy consumption and energy consumption structure in China and other countries through some specific data. According to lots of statistic data in some representative cities of China, characteristics of energy consumption with regard to the residential sector in recent years, the increasing trend in the future and the concomitant negative influence of CO2 emission which contributes to a big environmental problem are also discussed. Furthermore, some comments and proposals on the development of renewable energy techniques applying in residential buildings in China based on the policy of the government are stated.
