Although the concrete tiles have various advantages, such as economical efficiency, a variety of form and function, efflorescence takes place in surfaces of them when getting wet. Therefore, it is inevitable to prevent their surfaces from being efflorescent. So, to secure stability about the moisture becoming main reason of efflorescence, we examined a variety of factors, such as three type of cement, curing conditions, and surface treatments.
As the results, there are efflorescences in concrete tiles using white cement and blast furnace slag mixed cement except using alumina cement in the case of steam curing only. Also, autoclaving at 150℃ and coating with waterproofing agent is stable for efflorescence, however it is necessary to investigate the durability for long time.
