Antigenicity of Hantann virus(ROK84-105) and Seoul virus(80-39) harvested from suckling rats brains was better than the viruses grown in Vero E6 cell cultures in S.D. rats, and antigen titers were 40,960 units/ml by ELISA. Infectivity of Hantaan and Seoul virus was completely inactivated with 0.05% formalin at 4℃ for 10 days. The vaccine was made by the modified method of Japanese encephalitis mice brain vaccine and antigen titers of the inactivated purified vaccines was 20,480 units/ml by ELISA. Protein content of the vaccine was 27-50μl/ml. Primary and secondary antibody responses were demonstrated in rats after administration of 512 and 128 units of antigen IM, respectively.
