    Many countries across the world are soon going to become aged societies. Korea is also expected to become an aged society by the year 2018, given its rapidly aging population. According to the 2008 data of the Korean Statistical Information Service (KOSIS), about 40% of the elderly are reported to have experienced at least one fall within the preceding year. In the elderly, falls are known to be a risk factor for mortality via secondary complications. In order to model an environment mimicking falls, this study investigated the changes in accelerations and angular velocity according to the slipping speeds of the subject, at the time of the fall caused by slippery flooring.
