    An optimization algorithm is developed based on a simulation case of a single family house model equipped with PV arrays. For nationwide proliferation of PV power generation facilities, it is necessary to introduce market-competitive electricity price, which is determined based on time of use. In this study, linear programming optimization has been designed for optimal operation of power sources composed of main grid, PV arrays and batteries. For the optimization, complete prediction of weather and power demand is assumed. For practical design, a tolerance was assigned to allow for mismatch between demand and supply at every moment. The designed optimization showed a plausible strategy. It charged electricity from main grid at cheapest periods and sold it to main grid at the most expensive periods. In spite of heavy use of heat pump for cooling during August, the strategy led to earning of 9,000 won for the first week of August. The resulting algorithm seems to be practical and simple enough to be implemented into a microprocessor for microgrid operation.
