This study reinterprets Godly Play as a church curriculum for children in the light of theological aesthetics which emphasizes the spiritual emotion and experience forgotten in the recent flow of theological studies. Theological aesthetics views God as emotional, playful, and immanent. Godly Play helps children to have their own personal relationship with God who is emotional, immanent, and communal. This study redefines Godly Play as a spiritual curriculum in which theological aesthetics is embodied and represented. In terms of theological aesthetics, this study introduces five movements: welcoming, circling, responding, feasting, and leaving, as the artistic process of teaching and learning in Godly Play.
