The purpose of this study is to analyze the two courses of the furniture design studio and theory lecture at the department of housing and interior design of two universities. We found that there are some difference between design studio and theor lecture.
Through the design theory lecture, students will learn types, function, materials and construction of furniture influenced by eastern and western culture, and design concepts of modern furniture. Also, students will learn theories for furniture design fitting future housing culture and they can consider the future job in terms of furniture design and marketing field. Through the furniture design studio, students can learn creative methods of furniture works out of furniture study and they can create a new type of furniture.
