The purpose of this study was to clarify specific design recommendations on the illuminance of
surrounding surfaces in the living room. And, We had an experiment to clarify the relationship
between of the wall illuminance.
In the case of uniform lighting, the exponent of relationship between the table illuminance and the
wall illuminance is in the range of 0.1 to 0.3 except in the case of the lower limit value.
In the case of non-uniform lighting, the trend of the preferred wall illuminance in relation to the table
illuminance is different from the relationship in the case of uniform illuminance and show that the
preferred wall illuminance hardly depends on table illuminance.
