The concept of Eco-industrial parks started with application of the principles of natural ecological system to the industries. Such a positive approach is designed to sustain uses of each resource to a maximum degree, while reducing the contamination. Based on the above basic ideas, the strategies for creation of Eco-industrial parks in Korea can be suggested as follows; (1) Basic awareness of eco-industrial parks: (2) Establishment of an Eco-industrial model applicable to domestic industrial complexes: (3) Encouragement of businesses and local people to participate in Eco-industrial parks: (4) Construction of an information network: (5) Arrangement of a comprehensive code and reforms of relevant codes and systems: (6) Securing of budget and financial resources required for creation of Eco-industrial parks. In order to create more Eco-industrial parks in Korea, it is deemed required of government, industries and local people to join hands for mutual benefits.
