Wide spreaded flavonoids are very useful for health owing to their antioxidative capacity. Four kinds of flavonoids : myricetin(M), quercetin(Q), kaemfperol(K), and galangin(G) with different numbers of -OH group in relation to their antioxidant activity, cytotoxicity. The antioxidant capacity of these flavonoids in cell culture media measured FRAP method was: M>Q>K>G, which correlated respectively with the presence of 3, 2, 1, and 0 OH groups on their B-ring where formation and decay of flavonoid aroxyl radicals occurs. Trypan-blue exclusion test also showed that the higher the numbers of OH in B-ring, the less toxic was the flavonoid to endothelial cells (EC). LD50 was: M (100 uM) > Q (50 uM) > K (20 uM) > G ( 10 uM). We tested ½ LD50 of flavonoids for their anti- angiogenic effect.
