Over 80 percent of the energy is known to be used in buildings in the course of operating stage through all its lifetime, and therefore it is very important to save energy in this period. But there are few means or tools useful for building management and energy saving. Recently KICT(Korea Institute of Construction Technology) developed the Korean Standard for building energy management system with KEMCO(Korea Energy Management Corporation) and MOLIT(Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) of Korea. This
standard, shall come into force sooner or later, concentrated on tho fields. One was the data processing process and the other was functions classified into several grades with the characteristic and the degree of difficulty. The standardization strategy, which be moved ahead hereafter, of the building energy management system was also proposed.
