The need to reduce the cost of protein input in producing fish feed is a geometrically increasing and this is reducing the break-even value of fish farmers hence a need for this study. Mucuna pruiens was sought for its possibility in replacing soybean in the diet of fish. M. pruiens was collected from wild, stones were picked and divided into five equal portions for processing and fermentation. All the treated mucuna were fermented in triplicate.1% of Sodium hypochlorite solution was added to sterilize the velvet beans. Then a mixture of 0.1M of Acetic Acid and 0.1M of Sodium Ethanoate was used to prepare a buffer solution of pH4-6 which will create an enable medium for fungi growth.
