    The objective of this study is to propose an assessment tool that is designed to help improve skills in persuasive speaking for learners of Korean for academic purpose (KAP). The evaluative constructs are established as linguistic ability, discourse ability, and sociolinguistic ability. The criteria of linguistic ability include vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. The criteria of discourse ability include content and organization. Those of sociolinguistic ability include register and politeness. Furthermore, specific categories include accuracy, fluency, coherence, relevance, logicality, and soundness. In addition a holistic assessment tool and an analytic assessment tool are proposed simultaneously.
