This paper analysed the terminology, meaning, language and structure of slogans which are being used by Korean local and regional governments. The result of this analysis confirmed that the slogan terminology which is being used by local governments is quite confusing and unclear. It was found that 81% of the slogans were written mainly in English words than Hanguel or combining Hanguel with English or Chinese words. These slogans are used for Korean people, but as a public language it can be considered an inappropriate usage. The characteristics of sentence structure which are mostly used in slogans show that they are framed with modifiers and non-modifier words. Also, it showed that the word ‛행복" is often used in Korean slogans. In English slogans, the ‛you" word is widely used with an intention to intensify the sense of belonging of local governments. Besides that, adjectives such as ‘happy" and ‛good" are used widely.
