In the design of urban railway lines, several factors are considered to determine the optimal route. In addition, it is also considered whether the existing trains can be operated in the case of line extended. However, the review does not include consideration of the performance of special vehicles (motor car, locomotive train, and tunnel cleaning car) for railway maintenance. It is stated that the gradient of railroad can be constructed up to 35 ‰ in urban railway construction rule of the Ministry of Land Transportation. However, there is no regulation on the length of gradient railroad.
