Intertextuality between the novel of My Parents’ Bedroom and the movie of Hotel Rwanda shows a horrendous reality of Rwandan civil war vividly in the same time period and place, and it describes the helpless bystander of the U.N. troops who can"t do anything about the Rwandan genocide in the war of an ideological conflict. This study compares and analyzes on a life of the Hutu and the Tutsi chained to coloniality without recovering postcoloniality in the civil war. The Tutsi has maintained the lead for a long time ever since they were split into the Hutu and the Tutsi by Belgian colonialism. The Hutu comes into power by overthrowing the existing government of the Tutsi. The Tutsi makes a counterattack against the Hutu. Their civil war is “Which tribe holds the control of political power”, because politics gives them money and power as George says in the movie. Actually, the way of recognition for the Hutu or the Tutsi can be considerably ambiguous. The war among a minority of higher-ups between the Hutu and the Tutsi, trying to seize political power, moves into the public by ideology of racial discrimination. This paper focuses on a life chained to coloniality of Rwandan, longing for postcoloniality.
