    The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between emotional experience and time metaphor in English and Korean. Two experiments investigated the relationship between emotional experiences of happiness and state anxiety and time metaphors: high happiness would be associated with a higher chance of choosing an ego-moving metaphor of time, whereas state anxiety would be associated with a higher chance of choosing a time-moving metaphor of time. Specifically, Korean participants with an ego-moving metaphor reported significantly higher scores for happiness than those who adopted a time-moving metaphor, but Korean participants with a time-moving metaphor did not report significantly higher scores for state anxiety scores than those who adopted an ego-moving metaphor.
