Although studies on English reading have been conducted among normal university students, but English learners in Korean Polytechnic college have been a marginalized group. Therefore, this study examines the reading ability as well as their emotional effects for English learners in Korean Polytechnic college. To this end, the reading ability evaluation test and the questionnaire on the affective factors were used separately and the data analysis was performed using Jamovi, a statistical program. The research results are as follows. First, the pre- and post-change of learners" reading ability were statistically significant. Second, it was found to be effective for participants" attitudes, confidence, interest, and motivation, and especially, a movie had a great influence on attitudes. Third, in the analysis of the affective domain based on the level of English learners, attitude and interest were statistically significant among groups. Finally, educational implications were suggested based on the research results.
