This paper summarizes research accomplishments in Central Eurasian and West Asian history from 2020 to 2023, highlighting key trends:
First, institutional studies dominated Silk Road research due to its vast scope.
Second, studies on nomadic empires focused predominantly on the Mongol Empire, continuing the trend from 2016-2019.
Third, research on Korean Peninsula-Central Eurasia relations centered mostly on Goryeo and the Mongol Empire.
Fourth, modern Central Eurasian studies primarily examined the independence histories of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia.
Fifth, in West Asian studies, Ottoman research saw significant growth, especially among younger scholars, while Arab and Middle Eastern historical studies decreased, focusing mainly on Islamic rituals and laws.
