Through a critical examination of the new narratives, themes, and production strategies emerging in Hallyu drama, this study aims to shed light on the complex dynamics driving the transformation of one of the most influential genres in contemporary global media. The paper explores the historical trajectory of Hallyu drama, tracing their rise from niche content in South Korea to mainstream global entertainment. It examines the key factors that contributed to their international success. This provides a foundation for understanding the context in which contemporary changes are occurring. The paper also considers the role of technological advancements and the proliferation of streaming services in facilitating these changes. These platforms have enabled Hallyu drama to reach broader and more diverse audiences, which, in turn, has influenced the type of content being produced. In conclusion, this paper suggests that in the era of digital transformation, which has brought about fundamental changes in the way Hallyu content is produced, distributed, and consumed, we should look at the Hallyu phenomenon not as a fixed, unchanging thing but as events that constantly appear and disappear.
