This article examines the virtual simulation classroom project for multilingual Chinese culture at Shenzhen University, an innovative approach to teaching Spanish for tourism by integrating digital and audiovisual technologies. This project uses virtual reality (VR) technologies and multimedia resources to create immersive learning environments that enhance students' motivation, engagement, and language skills. The study is based on data collected through surveys, interviews, and classroom observations, showing that students demonstrate significant improvement in their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Additionally, VR technology has facilitated the acquisition of professional terminology and improved students' intercultural competence, which are essential skills in the tourism sector. The article also identifies several challenges in implementing this technology, such as the high costs of VR equipment and potential initial physical discomfort for students. To address these issues, it proposes the continuous optimization of the technology and a gradual integration with traditional teaching methods. The successful experiences of this project provide a valuable model that other educational institutions can adapt to enhance language teaching for specific purposes. The combination of theory and practice, supported by advanced technologies, suggests a promising pathway for developing more effective and engaging teaching methods. In conclusion, digitalization and audiovisual technologies present significant opportunities to revolutionize the teaching of Spanish for tourism. By overcoming current challenges and continuing to innovate, these technologies have the potential to transform language education, preparing it to meet the demands of an increasingly globalized and interconnected world.
