For the dynamic particle “Guo₂” in modern Chinese, based on fully drawing on and absorbing the relevant research results of previous scholars, this study mainly uses the “Chinese Verb Usage Dictionary” (2117 meanings of 1223 verbs) and the “Chinese Adjectives Usage Dictionary” (1329 meanings of 1067 adjectives) as language sources to examine and organize verbs and adjectives that cannot coexist in the two dictionaries, and summarizes some rules.
For sentences such as “v./adj.+Guo₂”, it is considered a generalized “event frame”. Due to the particularity of “Guo₂”, regardless of the presence of other language expressions, this type of sentence brings about the opening of the maximum combination window of attention(starting window+middle window+ending window). In terms of scanning method, it is suitable for the cognitive approach of “into” type summary scanning, which tests and aggregates the beginning and end of similar (single or multiple) events or states one by one. At the same time as the scanning process is completed, it is presented as a “completion” (experience).
