We developed an XR (Extended Reality) content based on the Korean folktale ‘The Brother and Sister who Became the Sun and Moon’ to modernize and preserve traditional narratives. The XR con- tent integrates interactive gaming elements such as running, shooting, and puzzle-solving, designed to engage users of all ages. Leveraging XR’s immersive capabilities, the content emphasizes floor-based interaction to enhance participation and story engagement, offering users a dynamic and memorable cultural experience. User tests revealed high levels of immersion, educational value, and interest in Korean folktales, highlighting XR’s potential as an educational and cultural transmission tool. The re- search highlights the potential of combining traditional storytelling with modern technology to promote cultural heritage in the digital age.
